About 213 Industry . . .

Michelle Kim, designer and founder of 213 Industry, Inc., decided to create a novelty line that was not restricted by price and still affordable to reach price-conscious consumers.  With celebrity stylist/make-up artist background, she always wondered why it was very hard to find a great, affordable clothing line that could be worn day to night without spending a fortune.

Working for various companies as a designer has taught her what to do and not to do in the fashion business.  She decided to create her own line when the fashion industry’s economy reached its lowest in ten years.  She knew starting a new line when other businesses were suffering was the best time to start it.  She also knew boutique business owners were looking for something hot and fresh to stay competitive with big chain stores.

213 Industry is currently one of the favorite young contemporary lines of both consumers and retailers because of its unique, special look.  It is funky romantic with a focus on simple body lines and heavy detailing.  No other line offers such special detail, and it represents 213 Industry’s dedication to making high quality garments.  Dependent upon the season, 213 Industry heavily emphasizes the use of a wide variety of top quality chiffons, voiles, lace, and other fabrics, as well as novelty trims.  In addition, its greatest strength is solid construction and fit.

213 Industry has been featured in numerous fashion publications, such as California Apparel News, WWD, People Magazine, InTouch, and Seventeen.  Sought out by TV/film stylists such as E! Entertainment as well as free-lance music video stylists, 213 Industry is often seen on celebrities alike.  213 Industry currently sells to top boutiques, such as Fred Segal, M. Fredric, Intuition, Ambiance, Red Dot, Jasmine Sola, as well as many other boutiques.  Department stores and catalog retailers also carry the line, including Nordstrom, Nordstrom Direct, and Macy’s and Henri Bendel’s.  213 Industry has also established a strong customer base internationally, including Japan’s number one department stores, Isetan and Rose Bud.

Wholesale price points vary from $35 to $85 for tops, tunics, blouses, $55 to $120 for dresses, and $75 to $150 for jackets and coats.
